Pride and Prejudice: Hello, Mary

Now that she'd ended up here, Mary Bennet decided to make the best of things and enjoy this unexpected second life, adapting to the local customs as best she could. When her mother gave birth to her fourth and fifth sisters in succession, even though the fourth was named Catherine Bennet and the fifth Lydia Bennet, Mary was only a little taken aback. After all, she knew nothing about British culture. Something felt off, but based on the more than twenty years of education she'd received in China, Mary and Catherine were common names everywhere. In any group of ten girls, there were bound to be a few named Mary. It wasn't until the nearby Netherfield Park was finally rented out that... Mary met her dream man. Mr. Darcy was cold and aloof, a little bit of a closet flirt, and above all, incredibly well-built. Mary really wanted to wrap him up and take him home as a collectible. All she could do was mutter, "He's my second sister's husband. He's my second sister's husband. He's..." Ugh, what husband? Mary promptly knocked Mr. Darcy out and dragged him away...

Theme: Set in eighteenth-century England, the female lead breaks free of the narrow roles of a lady and a wife to live a life of her own.
