Candied Hawthorn

(Short story * two updates a day)

The first time I came to Nanyang, at seventeen, I was attending a funeral. The second time, I came to make it my home.

"Jiang Nian, let me buy you some candied hawthorns!"

The boy who had lost his wings still struggled to fly toward the distant horizon. In that beautiful little seaside town, I think I fell in love with him.

But in the end, at eighteen, I still chose to give him up.

That summer, I never did get to eat his candied hawthorns.
