Burning Eyes

In their senior year of high school, Liang Si ran away from home and stayed at Shen Chuyi's house.

One was a pampered young master from the capital, the other a gentle girl from the water towns of Jiangnan. They should never have crossed paths.

Her elders told Shen Chuyi, "Just treat him like an older brother."

Not long after the college entrance exams, it was Shen Chuyi's birthday. Her classmates surprised her by showing up with a cake without warning.

Liang Si followed her downstairs, one hand in his pocket.

A friend whispered, "You've been 'living together' for months. I thought there'd be some sparks between you."

Shen Chuyi glanced at Liang Si.

Actually, just a minute before they arrived, he had been kissing her.

They met again five years later.

Everyone was watching as Ning City's new landmark took shape. Its designer, Liang Si, was young, successful, and from a prominent family. He often appeared in the news.

The veterinary clinic where Shen Chuyi worked happened to be right next to his architectural firm.

So she ended up in the news along with him.

Their old classmates sighed together. "That big shot probably doesn't remember any of us from high school."

"He definitely doesn't remember me."

"What about you?" they asked Shen Chuyi.

Just as Shen Chuyi was about to answer, a video call came in.

The big shot himself, Liang Si, appeared on screen, his handsome face filling the frame. "You're off work, honey."

Old classmates: ?!

"Blinded by your brilliance, I still want more. My love for you will never fail."

The next day, the school's official account posted a video recap that went viral.

Shen Chuyi joined in and commented, "So handsome."

That night, an account verified as Liang Si's reposted her comment: "Thanks, honey."
