It follows Li Sha, a country girl who heads to the vast city of Beijing alone to pursue her dreams. She changes from Li Sha into Lisa, from a country bumpkin into a glamorous woman who's returned from overseas. She also changes from a young person with dreams into an "old woman" blindly devoted to luxury and extravagance. From her initial anxiety and brave attempt to make it in Beijing, to meekly worshipping money and luxury, and finally to fighting her way forward, she encounters all kinds of people and events, and grows and transforms through it all...
