I Might Be a Fake Mermaid

New novel underway: "The Little Monsters' Everyday Farming Life"

Straightforward blurb:

Dong Zai turned into an egg, and not just any egg, but a mermaid egg.

After finally hatching, he had no sharp claws or teeth, and his fish tail was soft and floppy. When he tried to look cute, he was absolutely adorable, nothing like the fierce mermaid clan at all.

Dong Zai's dads were so worried. Their little one was so weak, what were they supposed to do?

They decided to find Dong Zai a powerful mate.

One day, the lost Dong Zai found a cool little mermaid.

Later, when the cool little mermaid had grown up, his dads pointed at him and told Dong Zai, "This is the husband we raised for you."

Dong Zai: "Meep meep meep?"

"The Little Monsters' Everyday Farming Life"

Yun Zai was born in a remote, backward mountain village. An orphan with no parents, he grew up eating meals provided by the villagers.

The villagers were all so poor they had barely a penny to their names. They lived in drafty thatched huts and got by on what they could grow themselves, but they still lovingly raised Yun Zai until he was plump and rosy-cheeked.

Seeing how hard and carefree the villagers' lives were, Yun Zai clenched his little fists and vowed to study hard so that one day he could help everyone escape poverty and get rich.

But it was a long time before Yun Zai learned that...

Mr. Bai, who seemed gentle as jade and graceful and composed, was the pear tree in his courtyard.

The silly childhood friend he'd grown up with was a little white wolf.

The classmate who always spoke slowly was a divine fortune-telling black tortoise.

There was also an orange cat who loved clinging to his pants and begging to be held, a rabbit that loved chewing carrots, a sly little fox full of mischief...

Even the handsome older boy who lived under the same roof was a demon from the demon realm.

Yun Zai had always thought he was human, until one day he was horrified to discover that he'd grown fluffy ears and a tail...

It turned out he was a little monster too.
