[Dream of the Red Chamber] Someone Else Takes Mrs. Lin's Place

The newly appointed third-ranked scholar Lin Hai was granted a marriage by the emperor. Word was that the Jia family of the Rongguo House had already prepared an incense altar and were ready to receive the decree. But... Dai Quan (confused): Oh my, I nearly went to the wrong place. Come on, let's switch venues. Lin Hai (splashing ink): What happened to the sheltered young lady who'd keep me company while I read? Jia Zi (kicking at the sky): Scholars are useless! Heaven, are you messing with me? The young dandies (wiping their sweat): That scared us half to death. Lin, Third-Ranked Scholar, we're lighting a candle for you. The emperor (suddenly realizing): ...I think I may have written the wrong character just now. Things to know before reading: 1. Lin Daiyu has a different mother here.
