The Emperor

Blurb: In the Tai Chi Palace, two young maids are chatting. "Could it be that the Emperor really does prefer men? Otherwise, why hasn't he won over Sister Yan in ten thousand years?" The Emperor: "..." Yan Yu: "..." A journey through the mortal world. Yan Yu thinks she's fallen in love with a mortal. She swallows a Boundary Fruit without hesitation, earning merit inch by inch and vowing to become human. But every time her merit grows by an inch, a different memory comes back to her... Who says humans and demons can't be bound by fate? It turns out they were, once. Legend has it that at one in the morning on the first full moon night of every month, the first person to make a wish to the moon will have it granted. The little demon who helps make that wish come true earns a hundred inches of merit. Among humans, this is called borrowing a demon's magic. Among demons, it's called entering the human path. But once a demon eats the Boundary Fruit and enters the human path, they can never return to the demon realm in this life or any other. They will be human for all eternity, neither born nor destroyed. The Emperor: For you, I am willing. Reader's Guide: 1. Happy ending, with a little romance along the way. 2.
