The Whole Empire Thinks the General Is Going to Steal the Bride

1. After rereading the story, here's a summary of potential pitfalls:

This was originally meant to be a 30,000-word short story, which threw off the pacing in the first half, with lots of flashbacks and non-chronological storytelling. The quality after Chapter 14 is a whole level higher than before it. I understand if anyone gave up before Chapter 14, but please don't tell me about it, qwq.

This isn't told exclusively from the top's perspective, but the top's perspective dominates overall. The author isn't particular about whether the top or bottom takes charge. They're both my precious children, and I never meant to hurt either of them. If you find it angsty, it's probably because my writing isn't good enough.

The parents in Chapter 1 are adoptive parents. The author is of normal intelligence. I sometimes write without thinking, but I really did go to college, QAQ.

This story is a labor of love. I'm not a full-time writer. If you like it or have concerns, please make your own judgment, dear readers. I won't reply to comments that deliberately stir up trouble.
