[One Piece] Did I Have a Spiritual Connection with Whitebeard Today?

I am a god.

An omnipotent god.

Even with such an awesome setup, I can't do whatever I want. Born from human wishes, a god has only one duty:

To fulfill human wishes for the sake of good.

That's how it's supposed to work, anyway. Humans are so easy to fool. I grant their tiny, insignificant wishes, collect their faith to nourish my divine form, and remain the carefree little white dragon riding the waves.

"Human, tell me your wish."

I descended slowly from the heavens through a sea of starlight, appearing before the tall, blond man with the square jaw. As usual, I was there to bestow divine grace.

"A wish...? There's something I've wanted since I was a child."

He gazed out across the sea, the starlight illuminating his eyes.

"A family."

Huh?

For the first time, the omnipotent god faced a problem.
