The Deposed Empress and the Eunuch

Banished to the Cold Palace for eight years, she lost all hope and died of illness in the chill of early spring. Only after her death did she learn that a strange man had been hiding by her side. He dared to brave the cold in nothing but a thin robe, rushing about without sleep. He dared to defy the rules to arrange her daily necessities. He even dared to burn until flesh and bone turned to ash, then accompany her cold remains into the imperial tomb. But he never dared let her know he existed.

Now reborn at the moment she first enters the Cold Palace, she intends to investigate that strange man.

PS: The male lead, Qi Duangen, is obsessive and insecure. The heroine is no typical noblewoman: she's frail and delicate, but dares to dream and act.

For the sake of the plot, Chapter One is narrated in the heroine's first person. All the rest is in third person.

The story is complete.

Theme: No matter who we are or what we've been through, what matters is you and me.
