The daughter of the Su family in Shangjiang City was a notorious spoiled young lady, racing through the streets on a fine horse in red.
The son of the Tang family in Xiajiang City was a renowned gentleman, dressed in blue and carrying a book, with a head full of knowledge.
The emperor was gravely ill and planned to choose a bride from among the common folk to bring him good fortune. The Su and Tang families hurriedly arranged a meeting between the two.
Who could have guessed that the pair, who couldn't stand each other at their first meeting, would turn around and declare their love for each other in public?
After their souls swapped bodies, the two gazed at their familiar faces and forced sweet smiles, though neither was willing.
"Miss Su is a heroine among women. I'm so grateful that someone as scholarly as me has won your favor!"
"Not at all. Young Master Tang is exceptionally talented and distinguished. It would be a waste for someone as uncouth as me not to marry you."
"Miss Su is the most perfect woman in the world. I, Tang, have admired you for ages, and my love will never change." Miss Su, now wearing Tang's face, shamelessly praised herself.
Miss Tang, now wearing Su's face, blushed furiously and gritted her teeth. "My love for Young Master Tang is as deep as the sea."
The parents of the Su and Tang families were greatly pleased. They exchanged marriage contracts that very night and settled the match.
The two became the city's celebrated perfect couple.
Perfect lovers in public, fake spouses in private. The longer they pretended, the more real it became...
