Notes:
2019: Wow, it’s been nearly ten years since I last came back to look at this. I’m amazed there are still one or two people clicking on it.
Looking back at how immature I was back then, I honestly don’t know what to say!
But if I had to start over, I’d still write it along these same lines and with the same idea:
Lily would still marry Potter, Lily would still fall out with the professor, and, in the very end, Lily would still marry the professor.
Around 2010: I only realized after finishing this that I should write a few words here.
Being faithful to the original doesn’t mean being faithful to the impressions readers have of the characters after reading the story. The impressions people form between the lines can be misleading. There’s very little description of Severus, Lily, and James. The impression is that Severus was simply in unrequited love; the impression is that Lily only started dating James after she finally abandoned Severus as a friend. That’s what everyone assumes. Impressions are there to be challenged. Just because something isn’t mentioned in the book doesn’t mean it never happened, and just because something isn’t described doesn’t mean it didn’t exist.
Original blurb:
The original inspiration:
My favorite story in Harry Potter is Severus Snape’s feelings for Lily Evans Potter. It’s a shame that JKR never developed it, just brushed past it, leaving me with a sense that something was missing. So I wanted to make up for that regret and tell their story in full.
Why I started writing:
After finishing my first novel, I suddenly felt at a loss for what to do. Reading stories every day didn’t feel right, and neither did studying writing. I just felt I needed to write something. Then one day I picked up Harry Potter again, and that’s when I thought of writing this fanfic.
A friendly warning:
I’ll write whatever comes to mind. There’s no outline or stockpile of chapters, updates will be irregular, and chapter lengths will vary. I can’t promise I’ll finish it... (Update: Well, at this point, it seems very, very likely I’ll finish it.)
A sincere request:
I have a terrible memory, and I’m writing this based only on what I remember, while trying my best to stay true to the original. If you spot anything that conflicts with the original or doesn’t fit, please point it out as soon as possible, so the mistakes don’t keep piling up. Thank you.
Theme:
In order to make the main plot fit the original work, the author forced her to make Lily worse than the original work.
Didn't the heroine travel through time? Don't you know the true identity of the Jie Dao Four? You actually believe them? Don't you know Dumbledore's character? You actually believe him? Are you out of your mind?
I saw the end of this article on my birthday... Happy 24th birthday, me Severus, go ahead... It turns out that the adults came back along the original track...
Skipping the development part and coming to this chapter, I ended up choosing Potter...
Hey... James is well... The wedding is beautiful... Times have changed, and I really like James here now...
I also think it's quite satisfying to torture... Haha... It's time to torture Sif, and I can't always torture Lily...
T T What a cup... James is so loving... Does lowering his chest mean that Lily doesn't want him at this moment... But when someone interrupts, his thoughts must be going that way. Even though I was tortured, I still felt great...
T T Please continue to abuse (←Do you agree or disagree? Hey!)
That's ridiculous, I hate seeing Lily with poter's surname. Also, my dear, please come back soon.
Sure enough, it was seen... By the way, sir, are you planning to update monthly...?
