[Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood] The Price of Going Back in Time

Hughes held his breath. The boy lying in the hospital bed had a pair of golden-yellow eyes that seized the attention. Their brilliant gold shone as dazzlingly as if flames were burning inside them. But those eyes now stared blankly into space, unfocused and wide open, reflecting nothing at all. Such beautiful eyes. . “This is... the Serpent of Glory.” “The Serpent of Glory...?” Hughes murmured softly. “What is that?” “A flying serpent that soars through the mist.” The boy pointed his pen at the snake, then slowly traced its body up to its head. “A spirit that never admits defeat, and always remembers its sins and its glory.” The pen stopped at the top of the cross behind the snake. . “Who are you, really?” The towering suit of armor demanded the answer in a voice torn with anguish, but the boy couldn't speak. He could only silently... weep uncontrollably. The childish voice he'd once yearned so desperately to hear again now rang in his ears like a demon's malicious cry. He didn't want to hear it anymore. He didn't want to hear those accusations from him again. So the golden-haired boy, his face streaked with tears, raised his head and shut his eyes as if breaking down. His voice was hoarse, filled with a weariness and world-weariness beyond his years: “Edward Hohenheim.” “That's my name.” A story about Edward from 03 transmigrating to the world of FA. Updates are irregular. I'll post each chapter here after finishing it in the “Fullmetal Alchemist Bar” on Baidu Tieba, with a few revisions. No baseless insults or negative ratings, please. If you have any complaints or opinions, let's talk them through nicely =w= I just want to give Edward a home. May he be happy for the rest of his life.
