Wei Bencheng is quite a character in her own right. Her father, Wei Xiaobao, didn't care much for her or her mother. He named his daughter by rolling dice: he rolled two twos, so he called her "Bencheng," meaning "stool." When the princess cried and fussed, Wei Xiaobao's first wife, Su Quan, suggested the name "Wei Shuangshuang" instead. But when Wei Shuangshuang was four or five, she decided she didn't like being called Shuangshuang and changed her name back to Wei Bencheng. She led her younger siblings and did as she pleased on the island. Later, she inherited and took after her father's rascal ways, roaming the martial world, attracting plenty of admirers, both sincere and otherwise, and doing all sorts of shocking things. Most outrageous of all, she fell in love with her fourth concubine, A Ke, and nearly lost her life for her. Since Wei Xiaobao loved A Ke most, he gave her the map showing the location of the Qing dynasty's dragon vein and treasure. But A Ke had never loved Wei Xiaobao, and felt only lukewarm affection for their son, Wei Hutou. At first she was repulsed by Wei Bencheng's love, which went against all propriety, but in time she was deeply moved... Many things happened after that, and in the end A Ke gave the treasure map to Wei Bencheng.
Wei Bencheng was overwhelmed with emotion when she got the map. But by then she was surrounded by many women, and felt too ashamed of herself to do anything but watch the woman she loved most dearly leave. Later, Wei Bencheng met a descendant of the Borjigin clan and gave him the treasure map, telling him to keep it safe and only seek out the treasure if foreign enemies invaded and the country faced ruin. For the treasure's eventual whereabouts, see my sequel, A Tale of Deception.
I promised readers I'd write an NP story. I'm just writing for fun, so enter at your own risk.
