A straightforward, narrative-style blurb: Born into a family of hereditary servants? To escape her low status, she enters the household as a servant, then, by a twist of fate, becomes one of the four dowry maids under Feng Lazi: Ping, An, Xi, and Le. With a tangled past and traps at every turn beneath all that wealth and power, the beautiful maid Du Yun'an can expect a life of constant hardship! But... She copies books to earn money and makes her fortune through ingenuity. She fishes for mandarin fish in spring, brews crabapple wine in autumn, makes lotus tea in summer, and enjoys hot pot in winter... This is the remarkable story of an awkwardly placed "little nobody" making an honest life for herself in ancient times and building something from nothing. A reader's guide: This story could also be called: "Have I Turned into a Fox Spirit?" "The Art of Getting Rich" "The Wooden-Headed Fool and the Fox Spirit Make a Perfect Pair" "The Art of Having Alluring Eyes" "Autobiography: The Years I Had People Running into Walls" These days, being a maid is no easy job, and being one of Feng Lazi's dowry maids is even harder. A maid who grows more and more like a fox spirit practically lives in a daily nightmare. Du Yun'an was born with a pair of alluring eyes that always seem to shimmer, and she used to be rather proud of them. But one day, she realized that as she grew up, she looked more and more like a fox spirit. When she was serious or angry, even when she threw a tantrum and slapped someone, she still looked as if she were pouting and playing coy?! And to make matters worse, her figure seemed to be heading in the direction of... a full bosom and a slender waist!!! Du Yun'an: Damn fate, how am I supposed to live like this? [Please add to your library] - "The Noble Lady [Anna Karenina]" At first, I never intended to fall in love with this man. I only wanted to play him. Later... Are older men appealing? Absolutely! Karenin, the longest con I've ever played was your love. Karenin thought the wife he needed should be gentle, respectable, and virtuous. Any woman who met those conditions would probably do as Mrs. Karenin. But he discovered that his new bride was passionate, willful, and bold, even alluring, seductive, and uninhibited. She was exactly the sort of woman upright officials must never marry, or even associate with. This is probably the comedy of a socialist flower who sets out to play a rigid, conventional old aristocrat, only to tame and change him along the way, while the old man, in turn, gradually nurtures and envelops the flower with tenderness, familial affection, and love.
