First Is My [Campus]

This is a [switch] story, a little bonus inspired by the short story "Forced to Act in a Danmei Adaptation..." in my collection. After the story reaches 30,000 words, the perspective will switch to [switch]. -- At the first monthly exam after transferring schools, Chu Yuan hit a wall in his grades for the first time. He came in second, dozens of points behind the top student. His homeroom teacher tried to reassure him that maybe he wasn't used to the questions. Chu Yuan remembered the big talk he'd put on before the exam and cringed so hard his toes curled. Slowly losing his mind, he swore an oath beneath the monthly rankings: "First place is mine!" The top student in the grade, Fu Jiming, happened to walk by. "Are you trying to win me over?" * Chu Yuan turned to see which little punk dared to flirt with him... Oh, it's the top student. Never mind. There's no way he's going to chase him. At most, he'll ask him a question, bring him lunch, and keep up the appearance of a flimsy friendship. * But it seems the top student treats him a little differently. On the first day of PE, he saw Chu Yuan naked. He only helps Chu Yuan with his homework, and ignores everyone else who asks. He even keeps following Chu Yuan to the bathroom. Suddenly, a light bulb went off in Chu Yuan's head: Could he have a crush on me? -- Fu Jiming: The transfer student seems to like me. Chu Yuan: What do I do? The top student is so in love with me. * Chu Yuan and Fu Jiming are both on guard, each waiting for the other to confess first. In the end, they make it all the way to New Year's without a hitch. Beneath a sky full of fireworks, they both breathe a sigh of relief and smile at each other. Chu Yuan: "If it weren't for how much you like me..." Fu Jiming: "Since you like me so much..." Chu Yuan: "..." Fu Jiming: "..." Chu Yuan and Fu Jiming: "I thought you said you liked me?!" -- Two top students, mutual crushes and mutual delusions, a sweet little romance Theme: Love and growth
