Dear Anthony

A cycling trip along the Sichuan-Tibet Highway leads to a romance across borders. He is an American doctor who came to teach in a school in China's mountainous regions over the summer. They meet on a train bound for Chengdu. When Zuo Zuo leaves Chengdu to cycle the Sichuan-Tibet Highway, she never imagines that she will meet Anthony again while sick, much less that she will travel the route with him, gaze at the stars on the snowy plateau, and make wishes as they turn prayer wheels. When he realizes he has fallen in love with her and confesses his feelings, she responds by rejecting him and running away. It's not that she doesn't like him. Her insecurity and sensitivity make her a fugitive from love. And so a romance born on the road comes to an abrupt end. When they meet again at an airport years later, she realizes how much she loves him. But when she finally decides to face her feelings, everything has changed, and another woman is by his side.
