The Apocalypse Is Here, But I Still Have to Go to Work

The weather is becoming more extreme, the environment is getting worse by the day, social conditions are growing increasingly dire, and the job market looks bleak. Ning Chengcheng graduated straight into unemployment. To support her family, she found a job on a farm that had little to do with her major: growing and picking eggplants. By industry standards, this is a high-risk, high-reward job. Because eggplants can now beat people up. It's eggplant season, and today she got beaten up by eggplants yet again (she's single-handedly racked up the eggplants' quota for beating people). Afraid of becoming the first person ever to be beaten to death by an eggplant, Ning Chengcheng says, "Boss, I'm done. I quit." The boss grabs her hand. "I'll double your pay." Ning Chengcheng: "I'm afraid of dying." The boss wraps his arms around her waist. "I'll double your hazardous-duty allowance, give you ten times your base pay at year's end, and let you name your benefits. If you want sweet rice dumplings, you won't get a single savory one! Anything you say! As long as you're happy." Ning Chengcheng: "Does the boss count as a benefit?" The boss quickly gives her a kiss. "He sure does!" A love story between a free-spirited boss and an adorable office worker who blushes easily. Mainly everyday life, with children, and same-sex marriage is legal. As usual, it's a sweet romance. The premise was something my good friend @Qi You and I came up with together. She isn't writing it, so now it's mine, hehe. This isn't a traditional apocalypse story, just a simple natural-disaster story. Plants and animals are still just plants and animals. No supernatural powers, no evolution. Not every apocalypse has to be bleak, so when the apocalypse comes, we still have to go to work. Don't ask why the blurb only mentions eggplants. It's because I ate eggplant that day. Please don't throw bricks; if it's not to your taste, just leave. I hope my next book will win your affection. I hope you little angels enjoy the story. Mwah! Theme: Work hard, be diligent, and be a useful member of society.
