The Bane of the Entertainment Industry

Announcement: Updating at 11 p.m. on August 15, with two chapters.

Blurb 1

When people talk about Zhong Yi in the entertainment industry, many look down on her, while struggling to hide their envy.

Their envy has nothing to do with her beauty or acting skills. The entertainment industry is full of pretty actresses.

To quote one popular Weibo blogger, Zhong Yi didn't join the entertainment industry to act. She joined to get boyfriends.

Blurb 2

On a talent-show stage, a handsome young man politely answers the judges' questions.

"I just turned eighteen last month."

"I got the best coming-of-age gift on my birthday."

Then he shyly glances at Zhong Yi, seated among the judges.

Zhong Yi wears a polished smile as her pen presses hard against the paper.

She never expected that the sunny young man she met while traveling in Northern Europe to clear her head after Xie Qian cheated on her, the one who couldn't speak Chinese, would turn out to be Chinese and would enter the talent show where she was a judge.

So what? They both wanted it. She's not going to take responsibility.

[Reader's Guide]

1. The heroine is a terrible person.

2. The flavor: iced lemon water on a summer day, sweet and tangy.

3. Let's discuss the story amicably. No personal attacks. XOXO.

Blurb 1

Liu Yin is a minor actress, diligently playing corpses and determined to become a star, make money, and get rich.

Zhou Yi is the standard domineering CEO from a romance novel: handsome, charming, and wealthy. He was born into a rich family and dreams of becoming an actor.

One day, after Liu Yin's boyfriend cheats on her and she comes down with a fever from getting soaked in the rain, she wakes up as Zhou Yi. Her cheating boyfriend is standing beside her hospital bed, respectfully greeting her, "Good morning, Mr. Zhou."

Liu Yin: ...

Blurb 2

Everyone says Zhou Yi must be blind to have fallen for Liu Yin and spent a fortune promoting her, putting the audience through the torture of watching her.

But the truth is:

At an audition, Liu Yin, acting as a judge, silently watches Zhou Yi, who is living in her body, give a painfully awful performance.

After the audition, Liu Yin can't bring herself to give him a chance.

Zhou Yi asks, "Mr. Zhou, I think my performance deserves full marks. What do you think?" His smile carries a threat.

Liu Yin: "...I think it's perfectly OK. Miss Liu was born to do this."

Everyone is stunned.
