The heroine starts out as a coward who loves tempting fate. Later, she and Haizaki become famous at Teiko for acting like big shots, sprinting down the road of showing off and never looking back.
The story is a slow-burn, snarky comedy. Both leads grow over time, just like this terrible author.
The face-slapping payoff probably starts in high school. The Teiko period is mostly filled with the leads' cringey memories of their chuunibyou days.
