Silent Deer Island

Later, Lu Ran learned that on her silent island, someone had finally been willing to keep her company, sharing the silence for the rest of her life.

"I was willing all along," Gu Chen protested unhappily.

"Oh, I was just trying to make it sound more poetic!"

A story about a heroine who acts up and gets melodramatic, while the hero is endlessly patient and constantly tries to win her over.

If these are dealbreakers, steer clear:

1. Their relationship develops from senior year of high school through college and into adult life.

2. There's a nasty ex-boyfriend.

3. Both the heroine and hero have issues: one is physically ill, the other mentally ill.

Everything above was just me rambling. I simply wanted to write a story that puts the long-suffering hero through some angst...
