A Hellish Start: Everyone Is Evil

Good news: Xuan Youning has been transmigrated into the body of a princess. Bad news: She thinks she is about to die. The Grand Tutor holds power over the court and has effectively become the second emperor, ruling with an iron hand. A prince of a different surname commands a formidable army, making preparations for war. His troops will soon be marching on the capital. The Blood-Droplet Director is cruel and treacherous. Nobody knows when he might appear behind them and stab them in the back. They are all just waiting for the old emperor to die. The old emperor is so sick he can no longer govern. Worse still, all his consorts are dead. The only one left to tend to him is a male consort he forcibly dragged into the palace years ago to humiliate him. He, too, is waiting for the old emperor to die. Xuan Youning: My life is over. She looks at the old emperor's three surviving children, after their mothers were killed once they had given birth: an older brother who is frail and coughs blood, a young and naive younger brother, and herself, who has just transmigrated here. Xuan Youning: This run is doomed. Let's start over. ...Well, since I'm already here, maybe I shouldn't give up so quickly! As long as I keep my head down! There's hope as long as I stay out of trouble! No matter what, being a puppet who lives off the palace and waits to die would be fine. Just don't kill me off this early, please! Premise: Never give up
