Ye Shengsheng is a bird-loving blogger who often rescues injured birds near his home. He also keeps a little cockatiel fluffball that loves to cling to him.
One day, Ye Shengsheng and his bird transmigrate to a world of immortal cultivation.
At the immortal sect, they test his aptitude. Well, he has a little talent, but not much. Without some fortuitous encounter, he can only spend his whole life as an outer disciple, sweeping the sect's floors.
So much for becoming a domineering protagonist. Wait, his cockatiel has incredible talent and the makings of a legendary hero?!
Not only does it transform into a handsome young man overnight, it also breaks through three stages in a row and defeats opponents above its level, making a huge splash at the sect. The Phoenix Clan even mistakes it for their long-lost crown prince and welcomes it home in grand style.
Ye Shengsheng is stunned. "Little one, you're a cockatiel! A parrot! How could you possibly be the Phoenix Clan's crown prince? Maybe we should run away, in case they discover you're an impostor..."
The cockatiel, now renamed Dange, says, "I know. Don't worry, I can handle it. Come with me. I'll use all kinds of heavenly treasures to take care of you. Also, don't call me little one anymore. People will get the wrong idea if they hear you."
Ye Shengsheng obligingly replies, "Sure thing, Tweety."
Dange says, "What do you mean, Tweety... Never mind. Call me whatever you want."
Unable to say no to his little bird, Ye Shengsheng goes with Dange to the Phoenix Clan.
In the Phoenix Clan's territory, the Green Paulownia Valley, every member is beautiful and proud, speaking as if they look down on everyone else.
New to the place, Ye Shengsheng's social anxiety kicks in.
On his third day of staying home without going out, he can't sleep and steps outside for some air in the middle of the night. The valley is dimly lit and nearly deserted. It seems the Phoenix Clan are all home asleep. Along the way, though, he spots plenty of beautiful, unfamiliar giant birds.
They're about as big as peacocks, and their golden-red feathers are even more dazzling and brilliant than a peacock's.
Former bird-loving blogger Ye Shengsheng isn't good at socializing with people, but he's great with birds. He naturally has a gentle, nurturing aura that entrances them, and soon gets along wonderfully with the giant birds.
Several days later.
Watching the Phoenix Clan crowd around Ye Shengsheng, all vying for his attention, Dange grows frantic. "All of you, stay away from him! I'm his Tweety!"
A sweet, happy-ending romance with Dange as the pursuer and Ye Shengsheng as the pursued. A fierce, fluffy ball of a bird in his true form, Dange is the top, while the gentle, nurturing Ye Shengsheng is the bottom.
