The Heavenly Emperor Is a Wife-Doter

The Heavenly Emperor stood in a bright red wedding robe, smiling at his fiancée as he softly promised, "I will love and cherish you, and stay by your side for all our days."

As soon as he finished speaking, a fox-clan woman drew her sword and tried to steal the bride in front of everyone.

Everyone was stunned, but the future Heavenly Empress simply munched on sunflower seeds and laughed. "Oh, come on. This is nothing. At my last wedding, heavenly punishment came down in a thunderbolt."

After finishing her snacks, Kuan Huang was about to wash up and go to bed when the Heavenly Emperor came in, carrying a durian and smiling sheepishly.

Heavenly Emperor: "My lady, I heard that mortal husbands kneel on durians when they've done something wrong. I'll kneel until you're no longer angry!"

Kuan Huang: "Don't be nervous. This is just a political marriage. I understand, really."

The Heavenly Emperor, aggrieved: "I didn't! I haven't! I'm completely innocent!"

A little extra:

One day, the Heavenly Empress Kuan Huang disguised herself and went to the Anything-and-Everything Bookshop to buy some storybooks. The owner smiled and asked, "What can I get for you?"

Curious, the Heavenly Empress asked, "You have every kind of book here?"

The owner replied, "Of course! We even have fanfiction shipping the Heavenly Empress with her adopted daughter!"

The Heavenly Empress asked, "Then do you have any fanfiction about the Heavenly Emperor?"

The owner said, "Uh... the only fanfiction about the Heavenly Emperor pairs him with the Heavenly Empress..."

The Heavenly Empress was furious. "The Heavenly Emperor is already with the Heavenly Empress. Why would I read fanfiction about that? Didn't you say you had every kind of book?"

The owner was even angrier. "Everyone in the Heavenly Realm knows the Heavenly Emperor has kept himself pure for the Heavenly Empress. Anyone who dares ship him with someone else gets killed!"

The Heavenly Empress: ...
