Ci of Jiangcheng
Moonlight glimmers at night. How many cycles of rise and fall have passed over the years? Fame means little, yet cannot be forgotten. Though our paths diverged, we shared the journey and should have no regrets. When we meet again, we are strangers; tears soak my clothes, but I remain as I was.
The world's joys and sorrows return with the night. I pay my respects to Buddha and scrape by, knowing only that fate is written. The emperor's father set out from Xuanfu. Beneath the moon over the desolate plains, I grieve for my old lord. The sun and moon shine, and the stars gleam.
