Gu Xiaoyu was indeed quite safe. While the other noble young ladies were doing everything they could to get close to the princes, she turned around and went straight to the imperial kitchen.
Gu Xiaoyu's dream was to eat her way through all of Great Li. She would start with the imperial palace.
Fortunately, the Li Dynasty was a tolerant age. The emperor thought the slightly plump Gu Xiaoyu looked adorably chubby. She really was born at the right time!
