The Madam Stole My Heart

Lin Ruqing met a lady by a mountain pool.

The lady was incredibly beautiful, and her clothes were remarkably luxurious.

She had long, flowing black hair. Lin Ruqing said she wasn't beautiful, that she and the lady belonged to two different worlds.

The lady only smiled and stroked her face.

"You make me happy. In my eyes, that makes you beautiful."

"As long as the two of us are together, we'll be as happy as immortals, no matter what people say."

Lin Ruqing went to work at the lady's estate. She spent most of her time with her, and before long, she truly fell in love with her.

But it wasn't long before Lin Ruqing discovered that the lady she wanted to grow old with was the wife of a renowned general in the imperial court.

All that talk of being a widow had been a lie.

Theme: People should look toward places filled with light and hope. Even when life hits a low point and they find themselves stuck in the mud, they can still turn toward the sun, bloom, and bear fruit.
