[Kuroko's Basketball] Growing Up Is a Disguise for Farewell

We will grow up eventually, and then we will part.

The rainbow and smiling faces in the photos gradually fade. We can no longer fool around and care for each other as companions; promises to stay together forever are slowly forgotten. We can no longer laugh and talk together, and may even end up on opposite sides. The happiest times in our memories slowly disappear, and the broken reality can never be put right. Because we stopped standing in the same place long ago. What we call falling apart is nothing more than drifting away day by day, something we sensed but refused to acknowledge. Only when time swings a giant hammer and smashes everything to pieces do we realize that it was all destined to happen.

Growing up is another name for parting. Some people make it across, and some don’t. Those who can’t are left behind, able only to watch the others’ backs as they disappear into the distance. Time may be cruel, but it treats everyone equally. You chose to stay where you were, while I chose to keep moving forward.

That is why we shared joy and hardship and grew up together, yet still had to part in the end.

Ruohua: Hello, everyone! Here’s the revised synopsis I promised. And that’s not all. Once Ruohua has revised the entire story description, everything will change, which is why I locked the first chapter. Ahem, it took me half an hour to come up with this synopsis. I don’t know if it hurt anyone, but while writing it, I saw heaps and heaps of heartbreaking moments myself.

From now on, everyone reading this, Ruohua won’t hide her true nature anymore. (I actually love heartbreaking stories.) For me, Kuroko’s Basketball is great material, because the first half of the Teiko arc is incredibly sweet, and the tragedy in the second half contrasts with that sweetness. Then the high school arc is even more heartbreaking! So I’ll do my best!
