[Journey to the West 96] A Tribulation of Love

A fanfic based on the 1996 Journey to the West.

Male lead: Zhang Kongkong

Female lead: A celestial maiden + a female ghost + En'en [the first two identities can be imagined as looking like Qianqian]

This is a work of my own imagination, with plenty of original ideas. Historical accuracy enthusiasts, please stay away. Most of the story follows the plot of TVB's 1996 Journey to the West, but the style changes quickly later on. The author doesn't know much about Eastern mythology, so please forgive any errors. There may also be plotlines from the British series Doctor Who and Marvel later on. If that bothers you, please don't read.

Xiao Qian was a celestial maiden who served the Heavenly Flower Fairy. After Sun Wukong violated the heavenly laws, she was banished to the mortal world and became a woman named Yu Cui.

Later, when Sun Wukong was captured by the Heavenly Soldiers and Generals, he fought Erlang Shen and accidentally altered the Register of Merit and Virtue. Yu Cui had no choice but to die with a grudge, becoming a female ghost...

Kongkong: Hey! Little Grass, how did you turn into a female ghost?

Qianqian: I'm not Little Grass, I'm a rose! Sigh... It's a long story. It's all Erlang Shen's fault. After I was banished to the mortal world, I did good deeds every day to earn merit, and even went to Erlang Shen's temple to pray for protection. I never expected my family to be ruined after I went there to pray! I had no choice but to take my own life to prove my innocence. _(:з"∠)_

Kongkong: That's awful!

Qianqian: It is... I've been dead for five hundred years. _(:з"∠)_

Kongkong: Wait! Something doesn't seem right here. (? ○ Д ○)?
