"Because of our emotions, our flaws, and our imperfections, we are human."

In the highly advanced future, humanity has solved its most basic material needs. Yet the third war over energy resources still destroyed half the planet. The surviving leaders reached a consensus: "emotions" were a harmful flaw in human evolution and had to be eliminated.

They standardized everyone's homes and clothes, food and public transportation. They replaced natural conception with artificial cultivation, and traditional schools with a mechanized education system. As society developed toward communism, they gradually brought the spread of this "disease" called emotion under control. When people finally stopped having emotional needs, every outburst of emotion among those who were different became an incurable illness.

"Without emotions, we can arrive at the best possible solutions to any problem." That was the law of the new world.
