The planet Luopulin is bitterly cold year-round and far from its star. Famous for its rare mineral deposits, it has not, unlike other similar planets, seen its people enslaved and ruled in this unfair world.
All because of its terrible weather.
And because surviving in the ice and snow has shaped its people into a battle-hardened race.

Among this people, the men in particular are ridiculously strong.
They despise outsiders from other planets and refuse to be dictated to. Their protection of their young is so extreme that nearly everyone who once tried to conquer and rule the planet was torn to pieces.
A few slightly cleverer people tried to use economic infiltration to bring the people down from within. But the Luopulin aren't fools. They developed their strengths, created wealth, and became self-sufficient. They had no need for supplies from the outside.
They hate outsiders because outsiders mean exploitation and kidnapping.
There was only one exception.
That exception disappeared eight years ago.
And this year, the Aotu Contest is being held right on schedule.

The protagonist is an original character. The story mainly follows the TV plot, draws on foreshadowing from the manga, and includes a little conspiracy theory.
