A race quietly came into being at the dawn of the world's creation: the Yuanling. Gathering the essence of heaven and earth, the Yuanling gradually grew stronger, nourished by the forces of nature. At the time of their birth, there were eight Yuanling, ranked by order of birth: Yu Wang Zhaoshun, Right Phoenix King Juegang, Left Phoenix King Jueyan, Hidden King Guyang, Ghost King Yiye, Divine King Xuanhua, Illusion King Lianliang, and Lan King Cangming, ordered from strongest to weakest. The eight great Yuanling also gave rise to their own sub-spirits. Born from the kings' division, these sub-spirits are loyal only to their own king. One word for each of the eight great Yuanling: Zhaoshun is tsundere, Juegang is flamboyant, Jueyan is cold, Guyang is scheming, Yiye is sly, Xuanhua is indifferent, Lianliang is calculating, and Cangming is hypocritical. After humans came into being, the Yuanling and humankind fought constantly over territory. Later, the human ancestor and the Yuanling formed an alliance, and from then on they lived in peace...
