Becoming a Demon

Five hundred years ago, Yuan Ji was hacked to pieces by a sword immortal in the Ghost Mound, then devoured by countless ghosts. Vengeful spirits gnawed at her soul for a hundred years.

Now she has been resurrected. The great demon who once terrified monsters and ghosts has been reduced to a broken shell.

She has become half demon, half ghost.

She must rebuild her demon nature and become a demon once more.

"When I tear you limb from limb and throw you into the Ghost Mound, you'll learn what it feels like to have your bones scraped clean."

She once preyed on great demons, but now she can only feed on lesser ones. Constant hunger and exhaustion have made her especially gloomy.

By chance, she meets a foolish demon hunter. His blood is even more filling than demon essence.

She plans to swallow him whole, but her own demonic power turns against her, leaving her unable to move.

The demon hunter takes the opportunity to lock her inside a gourd and tries to refine her. But to his surprise, there is a "person" beneath her, and a white ghost who collects souls brings her back to life.

In the end, she is stronger after all, and takes him with her.

She drinks his blood to restore her demonic power. Others assume he is her favored lover, and she does not deny it. If anyone lays a hand on him, she gives them a chilling smile.

At last, one day, Su Fangmu nervously picks at his fingers, his face turning bright red. "Yuan Ji, we might... have a bond stretching back a thousand years."

Yuan Ji lowers her eyes indifferently. "You weren't even born twenty-five years ago."
