A Fallen Angel
A fanfic based on the manga The Devil Does Exist, following the manga's story. After transmigrating, the heroine sees the world of The Devil Does Exist with her own eyes and discovers it for herself. In this world, what is right, and what is wrong?
Most anime transmigration stories feature Hunter x Hunter or Bleach. I really love Mayu Shinjo's The Devil Does Exist. I suppose it's one of the earlier works I read, so it left a deep impression on me. I hope you enjoy it~
There are quite a lot of English names in this story, so it can be easy to get confused. That's my fault for not explaining them all at the start. I'm so sorry... Please accept my apologies.
Let me explain what they mean here first. Each of their English names has a particular significance, both in the story and in some religious texts today.
“The seven deadly sins are regarded by Catholics as seven grave sins that lead to eternal damnation. Seven is a mysterious number in religion. The seven deadly sins: don't doubt it, you too are a sinner. They are Pride, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, Greed, Gluttony, and Lust.”, Mentioned in Colossians and The Divine Comedy
Lucifer represents the fallen angel of Pride.
Beelzebub, also known as Beelzebul, represents the fallen angel of Envy.
Alastor represents the fallen angel of Wrath.
Belphegor represents the fallen angel of Sloth.
Behemoth represents the fallen angel of Greed.
Samael represents the fallen angel of Gluttony.
Lilith and Satan represent the fallen angels of Lust.
(There are many versions of which angels represent the seven deadly sins. I've combined two of the more common versions here.)
Adam Kadmon (the organization Lai Xi joins): In the Kabbalistic interpretation, evil is continually defined as something separate. Since we cannot accept an evil aspect of God, evil must flow out from God's unity. Adam Kadmon (the Primordial Man) is the Kabbalistic name for the original, perfect human, a benevolent spirit destined to become the savior of the world. Here, I'm using the name to suggest opposition to Jehovah, since the organization Lai Xi joins is a group of fallen angels. (Wipes sweat...)
