Roam across the green fields, play and sleep in drunken bliss. Don't let your youth go to waste.
That was the line Xie Lanshan's father loved to say when he was alive. He meant it as a warning to young Xie Lanshan: don't let your youth go to waste.
But what about Xie Lanshan? With an academic giant for a father, was he a handsome, brilliant young man, brimming with vigor?
No.
He was a coward, weak and useless, insecure and gloomy. If life was a high-stakes gamble, he hid in the game to watch from the sidelines. How could he ever dare to stake everything on one bet?
He hated himself for failing to see through reality, for treating the world with false indifference, and so the world treated him with indifference in return. If he could start over, he would live as his father had said, and not waste his youth. At least, on the surface.
As for Yan Yang, he concealed the true storms raging within him. He was a born actor, able to turn clouds into rain with a flick of his hand, sinister and cold, yet burning with madness.
Again and again, he dragged Xie Lanshan out of his sanctuary, ruthlessly pulling at the thorns that had taken root in Xie Lanshan's heart. He made Xie Lanshan listen to the sounds of despair and look upon true darkness, yet placed all the sunshine in the world in his heart.
Yan Yang loved Xie Lanshan, so he had to become a sun himself, shining brilliantly from within and without.
Xie Lanshan loved Yan Yang because Yan Yang was willing to melt the snow and break the ice around him, buried beneath frozen earth, and become a sun for him.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
The writing style is very literary and artistic, with a feeling of youthful pain~
It looks good. I hope Lanshan can become more handsome and more confident. I hope you can keep writing, okay (* ̄ ̄*)
Big cheers for the author!
