One Piece: Eighteen Dragon Blades

On a stormy night, a strange baby drifts ashore on an island in the East Blue. After more than a decade of hard work, he masters the skill he has pursued. He fights Kuina and has a chance encounter with a green-haired boy. At a Marine base, he steps in to block a bullet for someone and accidentally gets pulled into the Straw Hat Pirates. In Loguetown, he crosses swords for the first time with a silver-haired young man. Their fight is interrupted by outsiders, leaving no winner, and they set off for the Grand Line.

Trust and suspicion: Will someone who'd rather keep quiet ever truly accept others?

Across the vast ocean, can he find the Eighteen Dragon Blades and discover his homeland?

I recently caught up on One Piece, ahem. I took a liking to two characters, so I started this fic. I don't know if I'll finish it, or if it'll turn out any good. I just want to indulge myself by having a character I created get together with characters I like.

This story is purely for my own enjoyment. The protagonist joins the crew. The focus is on description, which is also a chance for me to practice my descriptive writing. I'll add plot developments and some new settings, and the main storyline will be changed in places. It will be fairly long. The protagonist's abilities will gradually awaken, but he won't steal the spotlight from the others, since he's not the captain.

The romance won't be smooth sailing, and there will be some twists and turns.

Original protagonist: Amy K. Sword. Pairings: Zoro and Smoker (their ages will be changed). (There may be one more.)

As for the others, probably Luffy and Ace (Ace won't die), plus other pairings, which you can suggest.

Why not have my own ship? First, I don't want to separate Zoro from the Straw Hats. Second, I'm too lazy to come up with too many plot points... Updates will be slow. After the early chapters, they'll probably be even slower than Destiny... Please bear with me.
