Touken Ranbu: Summoning That Master Today

This story is about a powerful, eccentric young woman whose background is a mystery. One day, she travels to another world and meets a local, Natsume Reiko. Reiko mistakes her for a youkai and challenges her as she usually does, but loses. She owes the heroine, Qi Xing, a favor. Before leaving, she marks Qi Xing, leaving behind a coordinate in that world. Without a trace of reluctance, Qi Xing continues traveling to other worlds, but she never forgets Reiko, that extraordinary human girl.

This time, Qi Xing arrives in a world based on a game she once played, brought to life. It's a world that's doomed to go down in flames sooner or later. Because of a few flaws in the setting, the world with humans in it has many possible outcomes. So the game's administrators, the Time Government, patched the flaw. They temporarily set aside their prejudices and signed an unequal treaty with their populous enemy nation. In return, they gained a powerful fighting force to fend off enemy troops bent on changing their country's history. But... there were downsides, too. Hostility between the two nations, competition over how many rare swords each side possessed, and other problems led to a growing number of corrupted swords. The Time Government then appealed to the mistresses' kindness, creating heartwarming stories about other people's citadels to comfort them and give them something to enjoy. The results were excellent. With things going so well, the Time Government put defeating the enemy on its agenda, and even offered a few little perks... A special treat for the plushie lovers: every mistress deserves one. These days, summoning Shenron with the Dragon Ball is nothing special. The real key is having seven Konnosuke stewards to manage every aspect of your sword warriors' lives. Now even a lazy mistress doesn't need to worry about being unable to support her adorable swords.

...Just when the Time Government had finally stopped being useless and was working for the mistresses' benefit, with everyone heading toward a brighter future, the Time Government... started acting up again. Many mistresses had abandoned their swords after leading them on, among other things, driving our sword warriors to corruption and into the enemy camp. The government was unhappy, so it decided to hold an event in hopes of reducing the number of corrupted swords. Fine, you aren't happy with your masters? All right! These swords on the verge of corruption can choose masters they like themselves, then! There were seven spots, but no one wanted to join, for fear of their own lives. The mistresses on both sides had roughly the same number of corrupted swords, so neither side could criticize the other. When they saw the Time Government up to something, they all watched from the sidelines. For once, they secretly agreed not to take part. Unable to recruit a single person, the Time Government had no choice but to send one of its own to make up the numbers.

Qi Xing happened to arrive at the event and, after breaking a lot of things, felt guilty enough to agree to their coercive recruitment. She would find the others and take part in the event. Since Qi Xing had so few friends, she went to Reiko. After gathering enough people from Reiko's world, they were forcibly summoned to their own citadels. And so she dragged in her friend, her friend's grandson, and her friend's grandson's friend... Each week, the sword warriors from a single sword registry would be summoned to spend time with them. It was a game of choosing one another. It wasn't exactly fair, but it did soothe the sword warriors' resentment. Now, let me tell you all about their everyday lives.
