My Shadow Has Come to Life

When they turn, I have to turn with them. When they jump, I have to shrink. When they crouch, I have to grow. The sun moves across the sky, so I must always be careful where I stand. She works so hard just to taste delicious food... or rather, its shadow! Thanks to her superb acting, everything goes off without a hitch. Human! Open your mouth! Eat! Then she suddenly realizes her shadow's acting has been terrible for ages. It walks half a step too slowly and turns half a beat late. When it jumps, it shrinks to a dot; when it crouches, it spreads to more than twice the width of its body. When the sun moves, it stays still; when the sun doesn't move, it spins around for no reason. Before the apple's even been bitten, the shadow already has a chunk missing, and it even takes a bite out of the plate holding the apple. This disguise is far too poor. It looks like he needs to offer a little friendly help. Might as well make do with it. What else can you do, throw it away? Sweet story, focused on everyday life. The shadow can turn into a person. No angst. I'm writing a thesis and studying for exams, so updates are every other day for now. Time for recommendations! If you're passing by, check out my friends and their stories!
