Tangcao Settings

The main plot follows the case; the secondary plot follows the development of Tang and Cao's relationship.

Basically, it's a story about solving a case while examining your own feelings, and finally letting go and being yourself. Or not.

[Important]

I must confess that this is not an original fanfiction.

The core of the mystery, which takes up a considerable part of the story, is not my own idea.

I've always wanted to write a complete fanfic about Yukawa and Kusagi, with a case and a mystery to solve. But my abilities are limited, and I'm not good at writing mysteries, so I gave up and occasionally wrote little snippets for my own amusement.

In 2014, I happened to see a mystery story in a magazine. The plot wasn't complicated, but I felt the case would work perfectly with the development of Yukawa and Kusagi's relationship as I had imagined it, so I started writing.

In other words, the mystery in this manuscript, including the methods, initial character concepts, and relationships, all came from the original author. I built on that foundation, incorporating elements based on my understanding of the Yukawa-Kusagi pairing. I replaced or removed some characters and plot points that didn't affect the mystery's methods, and used the original work's reversal and investigative techniques as the core while adjusting the narration and some details to create this story.

My role was really that of an adapter.

Thanks to the original work for inspiring me and giving me ideas: the original story was titled Death Setup, written by Qiu Shanshan, a member of the Writers Association. The original has also been published on the author's blog. I'm not sure if the link will work; if it doesn't, the first result for "Death Setup" on Baidu is the original. http://blog.sina.cn/dpool/blog/s/blog_4a20c9310102v6w7.html?tj=1
