Basketball in the Rain

This is for a campus novel competition in Singapore, so I’ve kept the writing quite formal. I just hope everyone will share their feedback.

Haha, I’ve finally updated! I’m really sorry to the six people who clicked on this story before. When I was revising it, I realized it was an absolute mess. I hope that won’t happen again. I’ll keep at it!

Although this story is called Basketball in the Rain, it’s definitely not about a group of people playing basketball in the rain. I chose the title for two reasons. First, the heroine’s name is Xiaoyu. Second, it highlights how hard it is for the five girls led by Xiaoyu to form a basketball team and win the final match, like playing basketball on slippery ground in the rain. I also considered calling it Basketball in Prison to attract readers, but that title was too far removed from the story. I was worried readers wouldn’t understand what it really meant and would get the wrong idea, so I settled on the current title.
