"Master." Zhao Zheng approached the man on the dragon throne, dressed only in his inner robe. His expression was dark. "Are you feeling any better?" He walked slowly to the bedside, knelt beside the man, and looked at the figure beneath the brocade quilt.
Mu Xiuming slowly opened his eyes and stared at the emperor before him. He raised an arm from under the quilt and gave it a gentle shake. The chains clinked. "Better? You mean after you shackled me?" Mu Xiuming looked coldly at the disciple he had raised for over a decade, unable to stop the ache in his heart. Was he still afraid of him after all? Even though he'd raised him like his own son, he still couldn't trust him?
"What do you want?" Mu Xiuming closed his eyes wearily, unwilling to look at him any longer.
