I doubt anyone even remembers who these two are...
It started when I was chatting with a close friend about Infernal Affairs. If you boil the plot down to its essence, it’s basically Andy Lau’s favorite, Lam Ka-tung, killing Tony Leung, and then Tony Leung’s favorite, Ng Ting-yip, arresting Andy Lau (not really). If we drew an extra secret connection between these two, it’d make for a perfect mahjong-table battlefield of romantic rivalry!
Lately I’ve been completely smitten with both of them. I’m too old to jump into the fray myself, so I’ll just get a Heavenly King-level best friend pairing going.
