Crown of the Stars (Western Fantasy)

A half-elf wizard has a wonderful problem: the mysterious creature he summoned in the Underdark happens to be hunted by the gods. The wizard looks at the mysterious creature playing the piano by the window. Tall, long-legged, and gorgeous, it can fight on the battlefield and cook in the kitchen. "Would you willingly let me cut off your head and use it to build a ladder to the heights of magic?" The mysterious creature glides down and lifts his chin. "As you wish." Partly inspired by DND and Professor Tolkien's worldbuilding. Long live the Professor! The pairing is the mysterious creature summoned by the wizard. Please go easy on me if there are any plot holes; this silly author's heart is made of glass.
