Stirring My Fantasies

[Updates paused while I deal with real life. The earlier chapters also need major revisions. Once I've finished the whole manuscript, I'll update everything at once. I'm so sorry.] Jiang Ci is stunningly beautiful and sings traditional opera wonderfully. She's the treasured last disciple of the Peking Opera master Ruan Yanxing, a star of the pear garden blessed even by the founding master. On her first day at Yueman Shrine, posing under a secret identity as the new owner of the theater, she clashes with a real big shot. Yan is handsome, rich, and well-connected, and he opens by demanding to take over Yueman Shrine. The theater's young performers are all panicking. Jiang Ci assures them: 1. Drive the big shot away. 2. Lead them to the pinnacle of their opera careers. But when she achieves number 2, she still hasn't managed number 1. At the celebration after a performance, Yan stands calmly close to Jiang Ci. He reaches out to take the wine glasses the others keep pushing on her, then leisurely tips them back and drinks, never taking his eyes off her. The sight sends the whole room into a frenzy. Her friend can barely contain her excitement as she whispers in Jiang Ci's ear, “He's so damn hot, so refined and restrained, and so damn hot!” Jiang Ci thinks it over and says nothing. Last night, he wasn't refined and restrained at all. For you, my longing aches and breaks my heart. Key points: 1. A pear-garden goddess posing under the secret identity of a low-profile actress x a scientist whose family owns half the entertainment industry 2. A genuinely sweet romance!
