Nothing is harder to forget than the one you love, and nothing is more deeply hidden than the human heart.
Blurb 1:
In 2017, shortly before Lu Chuan is due to marry Song Yanxue, he receives a bundle of photographs. They show Song Yanxue in high school. Written on the back is: "A vicious murderer."
Feng Xiaowu says, "If I spend the rest of my life in prison, you can bet your ass you won't get off easy."
Lu Chuan begins investigating Song Yanxue's past.
The quiet, gentle girl before him has a hidden past in Qingshan City that no one knows about.
This time, Di Tells a Story brings you the tale of a cactus girl who once dreamed of going from school uniform to wedding dress, and of two people who loved each other so helplessly that they ended up hurting one another.
May everyone who was too young to know how to love be lucky enough to find an honest, mutual love.
May every scar left by loving too fiercely be lucky enough to heal through another sincere heart.
Blurb 2:
Song Yanxue, pen name Yan Song, is a celebrated young poet and essayist. When her editor, Yu Zishan, asks her again for a collection of poetry criticism, she says she wants to write a novel instead, a story about youth and love.
As Song Yanxue submits draft after draft, Yu Zishan realizes she is not writing a story. She is writing her memories.
As Song Yanxue taps away at those cold characters late into the night, her heart is numb. Yu Zishan asks why she wants to write a story like this.
Song Yanxue says,
"Because there was a girl like a firework who will never find happiness in real life. I promised to give her happiness, even if it had to be pretend."
On the day the book is published, Tao You stands in an alley with the new book in her hands. She turns to the last page and leans against the damp wall, listening to the bustle outside.
She sobs uncontrollably.
