The second young master of the Chu family had thought that when the family fell, not one of the hundred or so people who depended on it would escape unscathed. When Shen Yizhen, Great General of Huaihua, led his troops to arrest the Chu family, the old and young alike were thrown into prison. The servants and maids were either sent into military service or exiled. Chancellor Chu, once a powerful figure at court, was thrown behind bars, and the once-prosperous Chu family fell overnight. Chu Yang never expected that, by Shen Yizhen's absolute command, he alone would be taken from among the prisoners and brought before him, his life spared. But he didn't appreciate it at all. It was merely one abyss after another, and to him, there was no difference.
