If you know a demon's true name, you can summon it to fight for you. Those known as "spirit summoners" all share one goal: to become the Spirit King.
Twenty years ago, the genius young spirit summoner Jiumu was considered the most likely candidate to become the Spirit King. While attempting to summon an unprecedented demon, he suffered a terrible backlash and vanished from the world. People everywhere lamented his loss, believing that an era-defining legend had ended then and there.
But no one knew that Jiumu had narrowly escaped death. Though his body was shattered, by a twist of fate at the brink of death, his powerful soul survived and became bound to a baby girl, where it slept for seventeen whole years.
Seventeen years later, a girl named Xi Ruyi comes of age, and the Jiumu within her gradually awakens. Her fate is about to change dramatically.
"Grand Spirit Summoner? Chief Spirit Manifestation Adept? I don't care who you are. Living in someone else's body means you have to pay rent. That's just common sense!"
"Is that so? Then go take the Spirit King's throne for me. Even if the person who trapped me is a little girl, I can't afford to be such a pushover!"
The setting looks great!! Come on!
