A Rinxu fanfic I wrote before. I realized I could pull the premise out on its own, so I rewrote it based on that story.
The original idea came from a social media post (below):
You suddenly get into a car accident while we're halfway through chatting.
You're annoyed that I still haven't replied. You think of all kinds of possibilities, then decide I must be playing a game or watching TV and didn't notice.
I'm loaded into an ambulance, my phone in the paramedic's hand.
The screen is still lit, showing your message asking why I'm ignoring you.
But I still lie there motionless, with only the faintest breath left.
You close our chat window, exasperated.
Meanwhile, I'm being resuscitated in the emergency room.
You send a flood of messages, imagining how touched and delighted I'll be when I see them, and laughing to yourself.
A white cloth has already been laid over my face. I'm crossing the Bridge of the Yellow River to meet Granny Meng, while my family weeps beside me, wailing in anguish.
You wonder why I haven't come online in so long. Maybe it's because school has started, or maybe I've disappeared again. You think I'll show up after a while.
By then, my remains have long been buried, and my gravestone set in place.
And you have no idea.
What would you do if I died one day?
Theme:
Although it's been a long time, I still like it when I accidentally saw it... It's a touch of sadness and beauty in the end. I really want to know what would happen if there was a good ending 😭 The teacher wrote it very well.
