Three Lives, Three Worlds: Tempering Love (TV Series Fanfiction)

Female lead: Qing Fei (Xuan Nü). Male lead: Mo Yuan (tentative), though it may also have no romantic pairing. The female lead’s goal is to become the only female war god across the Four Seas and Eight Desolations. The greatest love is love without attachment; to be without passion is to feel passion. Supreme forgetfulness of love. It isn’t that I feel nothing. I have simply forgotten love. Ah Qing, do you regret it? I do not. If we loved in life, what is there to regret in death? But this life has run its course, so let it end. Parting from those we love, meeting those we resent, longing for what we cannot have, and being unable to let go. All of it is so painful! As it turns out, what I thought was a love meant to last a lifetime, an unforgettable passion, was nothing but a trial of the heart! Li Jing, if there is a next life, I will never again foolishly dream of becoming your wife... I think Xuan Nü started with a winning hand, only to ruin it all herself. Though her actions were indeed hateful, I still think she could be redeemed. What do you all think? (Mostly because the young actress playing Xuan Nü seems really likable.) A few notes: 1. I wasn’t around for the plagiarism controversy involving Tang Qi and Da Feng, and don’t know much about it. But to be clear, I do not support plagiarism. This story is simply to satisfy a friend’s deep love for Mo Yuan. 2. Although this is labeled as a TV drama fanfic, the plot, writing style, and characterization may differ from the show. In principle, I’m using the characters to express my feelings, so please read with an open mind. Also, the female lead’s backstory in this story is entirely made up and has no basis in the source material. A tiny spoiler: The female lead is inspired by the formidable female war god from mythology, the Nine Heavens Mysterious Maiden.
