In Harlow's final memories, that boy seemed to appear again. His eyes were as beautiful as Harlow liked, and his lips wore a respectful yet false smile. The clearest moment was when he spoke those words: "I am Voldemort."
Harlow wondered what would have happened if he'd shaken his head then.
The boy would surely have looked confused, then helpless. But hidden within that helplessness would have been a kind of acceptance the boy himself didn't even realize he didn't understand.
"Then what am I?" Harlow seemed to see the familiar disdain in the boy's icy eyes. He knew the boy too well, and that made the false memory so vivid.
"You are MY riddle."
The protagonist is Voldemort, and a nobody from the Chamber of Secrets. The story mostly doesn't conflict with the original plot, but wish fulfillment still makes up a large part of it. A short story.
